I was always the slowest in my class so was the easiest to catch but once I was "it" I couldn't catch anyone else. Much of my schoolyard playtime was spent running around in increasingly desperate circles trying to find a snail slower than I was.Thankfully this is not that kind of tag. The lovely Lorraine has tagged me for a meme that is doing the rounds at the moment. So while the rest of you tell tales of your trips around the globe I'll do my best to seem windswept and interesting.
4 Jobs That I've Had:
FUEL DISPENSING TECHNICIAN: I used to man the pumps at my father's garage when I was still in school, but I wasn't allowed to do it alone (one of my brothers was always around) and frankly I don't remember ever getting paid.
WAITRESS: I worked in Java's in Limerick when it first opened and was very hip and trendy by Limerick standards. The service there was notoriously unreliable but I did make a good hot chocolate with marshmallows. It was also the first time I met the lovely Val.
NANNY: Following Val to Hamburg I worked as a nanny for a very rich and not very famous couple with three beautiful children. However after almost a year as a surrogate mother to FIVE kids (the parents turned out to be the most demanding) I moved back to Limerick...
NIGHTCLUB MANAGER: ... to work in Termights (R.I.P.) making sure that everything was relatively sanitary before we opened the door (the sticky floors were beyond my control), that there was enough alcohol available, that the music was turned on and that the regulars were parted from their hard earned cash every Saturday night.
4 Places I've lived:
PARTEEN: This is where I grew up and yes it is in Co.Clare.
CORK: I went to college here in UCC.
GALWAY: I spent a summer here just after college doing very little it must be said.
HAMBURG: See nanny job above.
4 Places I've Been On Holiday:
DINGLE: Do I really need to bore you with this one? See here, here and here.
PARIS: This is where I like to go to eat my weight in pastry and sit in the Place des Vosges. My daughter likes to go to Disneyland, between us we always have a very wonderful time.
BURREN: The Burren in Clare is one of the most bleak and beautiful places in the world (or the small part I've seen of it at least). I need a fix of it at least once a year.
WEST CORK: I used to go to a music festival near Skibbereen every year in the gardens of Liss Ard House. With small numbers and guests such as Patti Smith, Nick Cave, Lou Reed and John Cale it was an amazing experience which unfortunately was cut short when it turned out the organisers hadn't paid anyone involved.
4 Favourite Foods:
CHOCOLATE: I sometimes have 3kg bags of Vahlrona in my cupboard. At these times I may not be seen for several days.
PIZZA: Lorraine's margherita of course!
ICE-CREAM: Murphy's Kahlua Espresso Ice Cream.
CHOCOLATE: Oh don't look so surprised!
4 Places I'd Rather Be:
Like most of my fellow Limerick bloggers, Limerick is the place we are happiest to be at the moment, family, friends and good food what else is there? But in the spirit of the meme...
IN MY EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE BED: With a good book so less of the snickering down the back.
MARCH 23rd 2008: This is when my sister's baby is due. All the fun with none of the nappy responsibilities.
SITTING ON THE FLOOR OF MY LOCAL BOOKSHOP: With a blank cheque in my pocket.
That's it I can't think of anything else.
I'm supposed to tag four other people for this meme but as Lorraine has already tagged the only ones who wouldn't curse me for doing so I'm going to give you four new links I've recently added over there on the right. If these bloggers feel like taking part great, if not, just you try and catch me.
Crime Always Pays- Crimelord Declan Burke's blog. Prolific blogger and author of The Big O, one of my favourite reads so far this year.
Cornflower- Books, paper and chocolate amongst other covetable things.
Little Bird Eats- Jen is English, having lived in Scotland for many years she has ended up as a new food blogger in Ireland. Can't get enough of us Celts.
Dovegreyreader- I know this is not a new link and I know Lynne doesn't have much spare time for memes and such but I'll always use any excuse to link to her!
I was windswept and interested;) 3kg bags of Italian chocolate - there is a GOD!!:)

Ooooh eck - I'll have a go. But I've got to write up my post about cinnamon icecream for Kieran first. I'm behind with my homework! And there's no such thing as too much chocolate, so 3kg bags of Vahlrona sounds perfectly reasonable to me...
