Lydia

Now, really, how can the 800-page book compare to the moment of wonder on your seven-year-old's face at the sight of the little pods?! A lovely, lovely post.

Laura

You're absolutely right Lydia! Though true girl that she is, it's the pink flowers that she's most proud of. We can just make out the tiny little bumps of the beans inside the pods now and although our crop won't be huge I don't think I'll have any problems convincing her to eat them!

Tanna

Wonderful sweet pea pods, great photo. It's a marvel how exciting the ordinary is through those new eyes. Lovely post.

I didn't know you had passed your driving test! That's wonderful, well done you!

Frédérique

I see in the (really beautiful) photo you already have them staked. Although I haven't grown the borlotti kind before, my experience with beans (on a 3rd floor balcony in the city) is a rather tall one. You might want to inquire about their final size, and perhaps plan for strings from pot-to-ceiling/curtain pole, to help them along?
