I'm the worst person in the world to send a thank-you note or card when the need arises, so I've taken to sending edible notes instead. It's usually cookies and brownies because I bake them nearly every day and it takes little extra time to make an extra batch, and they fit so nicely into a pretty tin. These you see above made their way to my little ones school, those of you with kids might recognise the minefield of the end-of-year gift for the teacher, my system has become gingerbread cookie decorations at Christmas and cookies and brownies in the summer.
To squeeze the most gratitude possible from this I'll also send it as a virtual "thank you" to Ireland's Food & Wine Magazine who gave this blog it's first media mention, and caused not a little excitement in my house! I tried to get a picture of the article itself but it's so small no-one would be able to read it! They had only nice things to say though especially about the dreaded Chocolate Crepe Cake and Chocolate Cheesecake. Lorraine, Val, and Deborah are also doing a little dance right about now. So, many thanks! I don't think they'll be able to taste their virtual gift in the Food & Wine offices but it's the thought that counts.
